Occasionally, people get pesticide poisoning from eating fruit that has been exposed to pesticides when it was grown.  Mercury, which is considered a heavy metal, is highly toxic and occasionally is associated with the consumption of fish.  And of course asbestos, which was once used as insulation in buildings, has its harmful effects to humans upon inhalation.
